Heavy Series Typ DB
DB with displacement worm
DB-actuators are equipped with a deplacement worm which is operated with a bidirectional spring. The displacement of the worm is proportional to the spring travel in both directions. Both torque switches are operated corresponding to the displacement of the worm.
This type of actuator is usually suited for every valve with sufficient elasticity in the market. Thus the inertia of the system cannot produce dangerous torque values.
DB with controlled friction clutch:
Additional safety is supplied by DREHMO actuators with controlled friction clutch. The motor is shut off if the set torque value is exceeded. Additionally, the motor with his centrifugal mass is mechanically disconnected from the output if the set torque is only slightly exceeded.
Torque values due to the inertia of the system are much lower than those of the actuators with displacement worm because the motor amounts to approx. 80 % of the total inertia.
