DREHMO-Matic C Additional Equipment
Solid state relay (ELR)
Optional, solid state relays (which are free of wear) can be supplied instead of conventional, electro mechanical reversing contactors. Solid state relays are recommended for modulating actuators (high cycling rate), where conventional electro mechanical reversing contactors have a limited life time only.
ELR type 1: Up to 415 V 3-ph., 1,5 kW max.
ELR type 2: Up to 415 V 3-ph., 6 kW max.
Modul "USV"
Specially designed for plants with two or more main voltage supply grids. During switch over from one grid to the other, idle times up to one second occur (no supply voltage available).
To provide a flood of false signals caused by the Matic C control unit, the power supply buffer "USV" can be fitted to the DREHMO. The modul "USV" maintains all signals for one second.
External power supply for control unit
For safe operation of the Matic C control unit (and thereby to secure correct remote signals), the Matic C control unit can be supplied by an external voltage 24V DC ± 10%.
Local lamps
To show the status of the DREHMO at the local control station, three local lamps are fitted to the actuator housing. The following operating states can be indicated:
- end position OPEN
- end position CLOSED
- COLLECTIVE FAULT
LC-Display

LC-Display
To show the actuator position the Matic C actuator can optionally be equipped with an LC-Display (display 0 to 100 %)
Commissioning with LEARN function
For setting the limit positions and intermediate positions without opening the control unit cover, the options electronic position sensors, electronic torque sensors and electronic position indicator have to be supplied to the actuator.
4-20 mA position signal
Available when choosing the electronic sensors for position and torque.
Special motors
Available motors:
- single phase AC motors, 230 V
- DC motors from 24 V up to 220 V (only in combination with special detached Matic C control unit)
- standard three phase AC squirrel cage induction motors, several rated voltages, for short time duty S2 or S1 duty
- motors with integrated brake
- multiple speed motors
Anyhow, the special motors necessiate modifications of the Matic C control unit. Therefore we recommend to contact us before map out the plant.
Modul "Potential Free Analog Commands and Signals"
The voltage separation of the
- analog position signal 4-20 mA,
- and the analog position command 4-20 mA (positioner)
is done by means of a DC/DC separation amplifier for each analog signal/command.
Either only one or all analog signals/commands can be voltage separated.
Position transducer: Maximal load = 500 Ohm
Positioner: Internal resistivity Ri = 100 Ohm
Optional to versions DM C 003 and DM C 005
Detached Matic C control unit - Detached local control station
This option is necessary, respectively ingenious in case of
- ambient temperatures exceed the rated temperature range or
- mechanical stress (e.g. vibrations of pipes etc.) to the electronic reaches inadmissible values.
The complete Matic C control unit is fitted to an IP67 housing with a wall unit to be mounted onto any place at the plant. In case of local control station is not accessible, it is recommended to deposit the local control station only and leave the control unit at the DREHMO actuator.
Interlocking of local control station via remote command
From the plant's control room the local control station can be interlocked or released by means of a remote command.
Mechanical dial position indicator
Indication of the current valve position at the cover of the Matic C control unit is done by a mechanical dial position indicator, operated by an adjustable reduction gear (adjustable for valves from 2 to 1450 rev./stroke.
Standard for version DM C 003 and higher, optional to version DM C 002 not available when choosing electronic position- and torque sensors.
Electronic position indicator
When choosing electronic position- and torque sensors, an electronic position indicator display may be fitted instead of a mechanical dial type. Current valve position or torque value is indicated in "per cent" by an numerical display. Two LEDs identificate the indicated value either as torque- or as position signal.
BUS interface modul "PROFIBUS" DP

Controlling of the actuators by BUS system: Profibus
The BUS connection for DREHMO "PROFIBUS" DP is done by a 2-wire-RS485-Interface. It´s task is to convert the "parallel" signals and commands of the DREHMO Matic C valve actuator to the serial log of PROFIBUS DP. Commands and signals of the actuator are transmitted by 16 bit SDI I/O channels to the master.
